LightBridge has just achieved the We Honor Veterans, Partnership Level 2. We Honor Veterans is a pioneering program from the National Hospice and Palliative Care Organization (NHPCO) in collaboration with the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) that recognizes the unique end of life care needs of veterans and their families.
LightBridge is currently the only hospice in San Diego County to reach this level of participation. Staff and volunteers have shown their commitment to the program by attending veteran specific activities focusing on respectful inquiry, compassionate listening and grateful acknowledgement. Additionally, LightBridge has provided educational opportunities on hospice and the We Honor Veterans program to veteran organizations throughout the community, strengthening partnerships with local, state and national organizations committed to helping veterans.
