Start the Conversation – April 16 is National Healthcare Decisions Day

The National Healthcare Decisions Day (NHDD) Initiative is a collaborative effort of national, state and community organizations committed to ensuring that all adults with decision-making capacity in the United States have the information and opportunity to communicate and document their healthcare decisions.

Start the conversation and help loved ones understand what your wishes are if you are unable to speak for yourself. Talking about death is not an easy topic to discuss, but it is much easier to address your wishes when you are not in a crisis situation. By completing an Advanced Directive you are stating your preferences for care if you are unable to.

A variety of resources for completing your own Advanced Directive can be found on the

NHDD website.
